It's not a Western...

IT'S A MIDDLE EASTERN

A local village butcher and gainsay judge lives a humble, quiet life with Mother and his bride, a fair-skinned, ginger-headed girl of twelve years, and it's all legal like... as paperwork proves it.

So when this butcher and gainsay judge, who holds the respect of the villagers in the palm of his hand, awakens one morning to discover that Mother and his wee ginger missus have absconded with his currency to illegally cross the border, he launches into a merciless quest across rugged, snow-capped mountains and windswept salty plains to reclaim his property by any which means necessary...

...and since he is a butcher, his hands are stained with blood anyhow.

The Wild Frontier

AIN'T WHAT IT USED
TO BE

FINDING SUNSHINE, from visionary independent filmmaker Marty Sader, is a radically original Western thriller set against the backdrop of the Middle East.

Steeped in the rare cultural fabric of mountain countryside villages, with their eccentricities and peculiar dialect, this brutally philosophical revenge fable introduces us to a mythical vision of Middle Eastern culture previously unrepresented on film.

It's time to change that.

It's The Same...

BUT DIFFERENT

“When I was a child in Iran, it seemed as though all we watched were Westerns. Having the benefit of hindsight, I now understand why the genre was so popular back then. We lived The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly on a daily basis. We identified with a Western’s primal nature. It’s how I remember my childhood. Tense. Brutal. Dangerous. A harsh frontier.

Now as an adult, having come a long way, being an American, feeling and thinking differently, I am bridging the gap between two cultures with FINDING SUNSHINE. A Western, not an American Western or a Spaghetti Western, but an Iranian Western. A Middle Eastern. Unlike anything I’ve seen before.”
